🏛️ Why UCF AIM Lab?

The students will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with world-renowned researchers from the Center for Research in Computer Vision (CRCV) and the newly established UCF Institute of Artificial Intelligence. AIM lab fosters an inclusive, interactive, and supportive culture. Students will be encouraged and supported through research assistantships, internships, collaborative projects, academic visits, networking opportunities, and scholarships. UCF is a leading institution for computer vision and AI, ranked around 8th in Computer Vision, 35th in AI, and 50th overall in Computer Science according to CSRankings.org.

🔬 Research Areas

Our research spans multiple domains of AI, computer vision and medicine:

  • World models, Generative models, and AIGC in medicine
  • Agentic AI in medicine
  • Trustworthy AI in computer vision and medicine
  • Multi-modality foundation models in medicine
  • General Biomedical AI Tasks (in collaboration with Harvard, UPenn and other leading medical schools)

🚀 Perspective Research Collaborators/Interns:

  • We welcome both undergraduate and graduate interns from UCF as well as other institutions (Any Time, All Year Round).
  • Interns will work closely with lab members, including PhD students, postdocs, and other interns, on research projects.
  • Prior research experience is encouraged but not required. No previous research experience is needed to apply.

📋 Perspective Ph.D. Students

  • Undergraduate or MS students in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong background in mathematics and substantial coding experience with solid programming skills.
  • Candidates with research experience in computer vision, machine learning, or biomedical AI are preferred. Prospective Ph.D. applicants should be comparable to our first-year Ph.D. students; please refer to AIM Lab
  • Most importantly, candidates should be enthusiastic about research and willing to fully engage with the problems they pursue.
